Specimen Type:

Serum, plasma, and whole blood

Requested Volume:

Three 2-mL platelet-poor, frozen citrated plasma tubes, 5 mL whole blood, and 2 mL frozen serum

Container Type:

Gel-barrier tube or red-top tube, lavender-top (EDTA) tube or yellow-top (ACD) tube, and blue-top (sodium citrate) tube

Send serum in plastic transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.

Storage Instructions:

Freeze serum and plasma. Maintain whole blood at room temperature; stable for seven days.
