Clinical Use:

This test is a transplant physician’s means of obtaining and monitoring information about immune status. ImmuKnow® measures the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) response of stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes.

Specimen Type:

Whole blood (sodium heparin only)

Requested Volume: 

6 to 8 mL

Minimum Volume: 

2 to 4 mL

Container Type: 

Green-top (sodium heparin) tube only

Collection:

Do not use lithium heparin, ACD, or EDTA tubes. Assay must be set up within 30 hours of specimen collection. Specimens received after 30 hours are not acceptable for testing

Storage Instructions:

Maintain specimen at room temperature (ie, 18°C to 28°C) only.

Stability Requirements:

Specimen stable 30 hours; >30 hours specimen not viable. Do not refrigerate or freeze specimen

1 to 2 Days

Specimen chilled, refrigerated, or frozen; >30 hours since collection; clotted or hemolyzed specimen; lithium heparin used
