MCI understands how critical it is to ensure specimen samples are received in the laboratory in a timely manner. With the ongoing development of UPS and the risk of UPS workers striking starting on July 31, 2023, MCI is taking a proactive approach to prevent any potential disruptions in our shipping services with our centers currently utilizing UPS for their shipping needs.While the situation is still developing, MCI would like to be prepared for our clients that utilize UPS. We will contact the our clients and inform you as we get closer to the July 31st, 2023, deadline that we will be changing their services temporarily until further notice as a temporary solution to prevent any potential disruption.

To avoid potential delivery delays that lead to stability concerns, MCI encourages providers and facilities to ship specimens to the lab no later than Friday, May 26, 2023. MCI will be available to receive deliverables on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Alert – Severe Winter Weather Expected Across Dallas / Fort Worth Area, Tuesday, January 31, 2023

MCI Diagnostic Center, located in Dallas, TX, will experience severe weather conditions from today, 1/31/2023 to 02/02/2023. FedEx has informed MCI that severe winter weather forecasts in the DFW area may result in delays across its network as a result of inclement weather and road conditions.

MCI has received notification from FedEx that the impact of severe winter weather forecasted for the FedEx Express hub cities of Indianapolis and Memphis could cause possible delays throughout the network. MCI is urging all site locations to NOT send samples to MCI during this timeframe.
